Summary:
This position will research, manage, develop, and implement all tradeshows, customer events, customer meetings and strategic industry projects for the Customer & Industry Affairs Department, Global COE; internally and externally. This role will also have responsibility for events for Amplify, ONE, and Dots. This position will oversee all functions of CIA department, manages all Finance pieces of the role including invoicing, budgeting, managing all contracts, and leading the planning for all regional and national meetings, events, etc.

This role also interacts with all levels within and outside the company and will need to establish critical relationships with vendors and partners to negotiate contracts, plan large events, coordinate travel and all logistics.


Major Duties/Responsibilities:
To manage and direct Customer and Industry Affairs Department responsibilities and participation within the industry and customer trade events.

Summary of major duties:

  • Manage the design and delivery of CIA industry, trade and customer initiatives. This position will serve as lead for industry trade show production. The role will manage and execute from beginning to end on approved project scope, schedule, budget, agency/vendor resources and internal share holders. This role provides consistent, effective management and communication focused on expected deliverables. This role will collaborate with brand teams and internal departments to align branding and expected results. By working with vendors/agencies, develop the creative approach and identify the components of the tradeshow or event. This role will work directly with association contacts to create, deliver align sponsorship deliverables at tradeshows.
  • Manage, negotiate, lead design and execute logistical details to align with company initiatives and strategies for CIA customer events and a variety of THC events, as required. This involves collaborating and working with hospitality venues, hotels, restaurants and public event businesses to negotiate all contracts critical to activation of event. Build strategic relationships with staff, internal stakeholders, industry associations, agencies, vendors to achieve/exceed successful results, enhance working environments. Communicate internal and external information to various levels for top level execution of customer and trade functions. Act as consultant service to CEO/EC for high profile meetings and events designed to enhance and support the business activities and objectives of the CEO and C-Suite.
  • Oversee and manage the daily function of large budget. Identify and report spends and trends to communicate to leaders. Collaborate and communicate effectively with key COE Finance partners.
  • Lead a collaborative team of internal stakeholders and external agencies/vendors to produce and execute domestic and global tradeshows and industry/customer events.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
* Strong contract negotiation skills / vendor management
* Ability to build strategic business partnerships; internally and externally, and show sound business acumen
* Ability to discuss all aspects of tradeshow and event planning knowledgably
* Ability to organize and mange multiple tasks, set priorities, meet deadlines and follow up on assignments with minimal direction and supervision
* Strong customer-focus
* Good judgment and ability to make sound decisions n an unstructured environment
* Must possess and demonstrate a natural tendency towards attention to detail
* Moderate travel and for extended periods (weekends) may be required


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education: Associates degree is required and Certified Meeting Professional designation is preferred.
Experience: Four to six years practical experience and knowledge in meeting planning, tradeshows, corporate event management.
Budget knowledge/experience.
Customer focus and channel knowledge experience a plus.
Certified Special Events Professional CSEP certification a plus.
