Job Description Summary

Provides professional project management experience to commissioning activities related to Strategic and Lifecycle replacement capital projects. Manages the commissioning (Cx) process through design, construction, acceptance, and operational phases to ensure all building systems related to project work, perform according to the design intent and Client's operational needs. Responsible for ensuring the Cx activities comply with established Client Cx standards. Interacts with, receives direction from, and coordinates with client representatives, project managers, contractors, and the Operations management team. Develops, monitors and coordinates the execution of all Cx tasks and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews contractual documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements, Cx guidance and Cx deliverables.
  • Generates RFP for Cx Agent procurement
  • Reviews engineering documents to ensure that the commissioning & startup requirements are accounted for in the design.
  • Prepares and maintains the Cx execution plans (including the schedule and the mobilization of personnel and equipment).
  • Supervises the preparation of the performance test procedures and of the operating manuals with the Cx Agents, Clients, and the project management team.
  • Identifies requirements for vendor assistance.
  • Prepares the Cx progress reports and communicates with the stakeholders and the project management team.
  • Confirms that equipment and systems are installed properly, are maintainable, and receive comprehensive operational testing.
  • Supervises, as required, the performance tests.
  • Assists the Project Manager in project closeout and turnover of the plant to the Client and Operations.
  • Ensures that system training is conducted with the appropriate Client and Operations personnel.
  • Ensures the preparation of final reports and certificates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree; Engineering, or related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years of project management experience in large scale, multi-discipline, MEP and/or critical systems projects, (or similar)
  • Must demonstrate strengths in HVAC, electrical generation and distribution, UPS, building automation systems, and central mechanical plant operations.
  • PE, CCP, and/or LEED Certification is beneficial.
  • Field startup experience with controls and sequence of operations scenarios required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
  • Demonstrated success as an effective manager and leader
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and technical presentation ability
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • The qualified candidate will be detail oriented, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, extremely professional, and customer service oriented
