Job Description

Scope of Position
* Support local community agencies and the local branches of the Free Library of Philadelphia in delivering workforce services within their communities
* Provide educational, case management and job development services to a targeted caseload of jobseekers within the community
* Support the use of virtual tools and services
* Implement quality instructional practices
* Create and maintain an environment that promotes opportunities for quality interaction and learning
* Efficiently handle several responsibilities simultaneously and work in an independent work setting
* Support other functions of the Community Engagement and Outreach Team
* Build relationships with community-based organizations to develop appropriate strategies to connect jobseekers to available opportunities and to aid customers who need further assistance. Facilitate the development of formal and effective Community Connections Partner Agreements.

Essential Functions
* Develop rapport and connect community jobseekers to opportunities through presence onsite and connection to workforce services
* Coordinate with PA CareerLink staff to effectively serve the needs of jobseekers, and provide information that will assist in the development of employment opportunities, on-the-job trainings, paid work experience, internships and transitional work
o Maintain an organized database of all customers; keep detailed documentation of all contacts
o Manage participant retention services and follow through with planned activities to ensure positive outcomes and goals are met as required by contract
* Support the use of virtual tools and services, including Microsoft Imagine Academy and PA CareerLink workshops and service enhancements at Community Partner Sites
* Implement and facilitate educational workshops and create and maintain an environment that promotes opportunities for quality interaction and learning through:
o Establishing clear expectations and encouraging client accountability
o Implementing a structure and plan consistent with prescribed curriculum goals
o Maintaining an awareness of differences in individual learning styles and strengths
o Vary methods of instruction to encourage attention and interest
o Utilize materials and activities to respond to differences in learning styles and facilitate active learning
o Demonstrate an awareness and commitment to the balance of individual and group needs
* Complete identified curriculum tasks including job readiness, portfolio documentation and preparation for interviewing
* Share information with appropriate staff and/or funding agencies
* Represent PA CareerLink at community events as required.

* Ability to prioritize tasks, document visits and contacts
* Demonstrated telephone, computer and written communication skills
* Model positive and professional behavior
* Demonstrate positive, pro-social interactions with clients, staff and community representatives
* Fluency in both English and Spanish preferred
* Use written and spoken language adequately
* Use language reflective of a commitment to diversity; demonstrate cultural competence
* Model respect and professionalism in all situations
* Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor requirements change
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
* Bachelor's Degree in social work, education, or related area is preferred
* 1-2 years of experience in providing career development assistance
* Customer service experience preferred
* Must have notable experience in a team oriented environment
* Valid Driver's License
* Must be able to interact and communicate with a wide range of professionals and demonstrate a positive professional attitude
