Job Summary:

As Senior Health and Welfare Benefits Specialist, you'll have the opportunity to lead projects and make a visible impact on our Total Rewards. Be part of our strategy to deliver high-value rewards to our employees around the world.

In this role you will support the overall performance of benefit plans for U.S. and Canadian employees with an emphasis on Health and Wellness benefits and programs. Working closely with the Director, Benefits, you will analyze current and proposed benefits programs for alignment with Harsco's Total Rewards philosophy, market competitiveness, compliance, and cost effectiveness with a particular emphasis on developing wellness benefit programs. You will make recommendations based on your knowledge of current trends and best practices to design and deliver new programs to promote and reward healthy living choices by Harsco employees globally. In this role, you will be the primary liaison for divisional HR staff, employees, and vendor partners to resolve escalated member issues (eligibility and claims). You will process vendor invoices ensuring prompt and accurate payment, reconciling employee contributions. Partnering with Payroll, HRIS, and Field HR team, you will ensure smooth operation of plans and value-added employee experience.

Requirements:

Our qualified candidate with have a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience OR an Associate's degree with 10+ years of experience. Experience must include administration of employee benefits plans, benefits communications, coordination of open enrollment, management of corporate wellness initiatives and experience using an HRIS.

Preferred qualifications include certification such as CEBS (GBA, RPA or CMS) or PHR/SPHR, experience with self-insured/self-funded plans for employer of similar size, experience with collective bargaining agreements, and experience with Oracle. Familiarity with stoploss insurance, ERISA, HIPAA, ACA and other legislative and compliance requirements and experience with defined benefit pension and defined contribution retirement plans would be ideal.
