THE SAIF STORY We started business over 90 years ago when we helped logger Dewie McKilrath recover from an injury sustained on the job. Since then we always have placed the needs of Oregonians first. Our unique status allows us to focus on businesses and workers, not profit. Today we are the leading workers’ compensation insurance company in Oregon. Nearly 50 percent of all workers’ compensation policies are issued by SAIF, and we cover over half-a-million workers on the job. Our innovative injury prevention programs have helped make Oregon one of the safest places to work in the nation.

SAIF Corporation is unique within Oregon. We are a not-for-profit, state-chartered workers’ compensation company. We make workers’ compensation insurance affordable and available to the employers of Oregon. And we strengthen the Oregon economy by helping to keep insurance costs low while keeping the workplace safe. Many of our 860 employees work at our corporate headquarters in Salem, while others are stationed in our nine regional and branch offices around the state to provide personal, on-site service to our customers.
