Senior Accountant/Bookkeeper POST NUMBER: 403973
Vaco has partnered with an industry-leading manufacturing company to help them find an Accountant or Bookkeeper for one of their manufacturing facilities. We need someone that has experience in the manufacturing industry and extensive knowledge of general ledger accounting tasks like AP, AR, budgeting, payroll, journal entries, reconciliations, and can own the month end close. This role will also assist with weekly payroll, interact with internal and external auditors, and provide input during the decision-making process for making important financial decisions. Any cost accounting and variance analysis experience would be helpful but not required. Need someone with strong Excel skills that is savvy with accounting systems and candidates from small, medium, and large companies are all encouraged to apply. Salary is 100k to 110k plus bonus and several other benefits.
There will be a heavy focus on month end close specifically related to:
- Preparing and entering monthly journal entries
- Oversight for AR and AP closing processes
- Creating and reviewing financial statements for several different entities
- Comparison of budgets to actuals and the related variance analysis to figure out discrepancies
- Balance sheet reconciliation work
- Maintaining and managing the fixed asset resistor and inventory
- Other various projects related to job costing, inventory management, income projections, and ad hoc reporting as needed
We are looking for someone that has a strong understanding of GAAP and double entry accounting systems in addition to five or more years of creating full financials and the corresponding responsibilities that go along with that. We want someone who has a curious mind and will take it upon themselves to look for ways to improve processes, increase efficiencies, and drive cost savings related to labor, materials, and machines. We want someone that can make presentations to department leaders and upper management and have the necessary communication skills to explain variances and ideas for improvements.
