Service Planner and Equipment Logistics - Service Center WEST (Las Vegas, NV)

General Information:

Service Execution Planning & Logistics work focuses on managing service execution to optimize the use of resources and meet job schedules and standards including: assisting regional service manager with the planning and controlling schedules and job requirements, coordinating the delivery of parts, supplies and test equipment/tools.

Performs shipping/receiving tasks as required, verifies that materials, equipment and tools received are as expected and ordered in both type and quantity. Keep tools/equipment local warehouse organized. Prepares appropriate documentation for shipments of tools and equipment to job sites and/or for repair and calibration. Execute incoming  inspections and coordinate preventive or corrective maintenance tasks.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Assist the regional field service manager with the planning and scheduling of field engineers.
  • Support planning and scheduling activities, ensuring systems are constantly updated as to reflect location and status of equipment and tools. 
  • Organize and maintain local inventory and storage area.
  • Coordinate the shipping, collection and receiving of test equipment and tools with transportation and logistics partners.
  • Maintain files and records of shipping/receiving documents.
  • Initiate purchase requests of services and supplies per local job or maintenance requirements.
  • Perform incoming inspections and basic visual and functional tests in tools and equipment, such toolboxes, slings, HV electrical test equipment, torque wrenches, tool sets, SF6 gas carts.
  • Coordinate general calibration and maintenance requirements on equipment.
  • Coordinate work with other groups to ensure meeting schedule and job commitments.
  • Perform duties in a manner compliant with prevailing quality procedures and policies.
  • Assist with the general upkeep of the local service office.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Candidates must reside or relocate to Las Vegas-Henderson/ NV.

Your Background:

  • High School degree plus 3-5 years of related experience in shipping, receiving and logistics, preferable technical high school or associate degree in an electrical or mechanical area, or alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Proven knowledge of warehouse policies and procedures.
  • Past experience with service scheduling is preferable.
  • Proven knowledge as user of an ERP and/or inventory management system. SAP preferable.
  • Preferable knowledge of MV and HV field test equipment, such as timers, CT testers, power factor tester, high pot, multimeters, gas analyzers
  • Physical ability to load / unload, pack / unpack equipment.
