Job Title: Material Handler
Classification: Non-Exempt
Summary: As a Material Handler, you are vital to our success, as your time will be spent maintaining production and distribution of our products by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished product. The ideal candidates will expedite the flow of products and components through production in an efficient and accurate manner. You will work in a brand new, light-filled, state of the art manufacturing facility, together with a team of highly motivated and skilled team members; to perform a variety of material handler activities, to build our award-winning proprietary commercial transportation seating.
Responsibilities: As a Material Handler you will:
- Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
- Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
- Document materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
- Handle, allocate and transfer materials needed to maintain an efficient flow of material through the operation.
- Support production goals with daily schedule compliance to achieve overall on time delivery.
- Keep designated section of the warehouse clean and organized.
- Maintain safe and effective storage practices.
- Contribute in a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Demonstrate and adhere to a commitment to quality and the quality process.
- Conduct cycle counts as requested.
- Participate in regular and annual physical inventory.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures relating to quality, health and safety.
- Properly use and maintain equipment and materials.
- Observe and adhere to all Company rules and safety practices to ensure a hazard free work environment is maintained.
- Maintain consistent daily housekeeping of all areas of responsibility.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
You’re a great fit for this position if this describes you;
- Vocational, Trade or High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in manufacturing preferred.
- Experience performing basic shop math calculations (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying, measuring and converting decimals).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in computer systems and in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Must be able to drive a fork truck, sit/stand repeatedly.
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions, directions and other communication in English.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and stand for up to 12 hours a day in something you can handle.
- Able to perform in a fast-paced, team environment, under pressure with time constrains while responding and adapting to change favorably and quickly.
