Job Description

Danfoss Turbocor in Tallahassee, FL is searching for an Industrial Engineering Intern. The intern will assist the Operation Project Management Office in the in multiple projects to development of process flows, plant layouts, Statistical analyses, and CAD drawings. The position reports to the Senior Operations Project Manager in Tallahassee Florida and is focused on strategic projects to fulfill long term company objectives.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Assist in evaluating and determining best methods for material handling processes
  • Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine workflow processes, staff requirements, and production standards
  • Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting and computer applications.
  • Evaluate material handling equipment requirements as needed
  • Assist in providing technical and operational support as needed.
  • Study operations sequence, material flow, organization charts and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities
  • Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material and equipment
  • Draft and document standard operating procedures (SOP) and Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) for operations tasks and functions
  • Conduct observations and time studies as required to implement engineered standards
  • Assists in project activities
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or graduated with a bachelor's or master's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering (Junior level or above preferred)
  • Availability to work 40 hours/week during the Summer and 20 hours/week during the Fall/Spring semesters
  • Candidates must be located within the Tallahassee area

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in 3D and 2D CAD
  • Mini Tab experience

Job Criteria

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills
  • Ability to sit, walk or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
