We are currently seeking an Electrical Distribution Technician II to join our Electric Distribution Team based in Blacksburg, VA.

YOUR IMPACT

CHA's distribution design engineers have the deep experience and skill set to plan, design, and permit electric distribution infrastructure and all types of utility distribution systems. To realize the dependable, cost-effective interconnection of overhead and underground assets, we visualize, analyze and optimize how the system functions with itself and outside systems. The Electrical Distribution Technician II is a unique opportunity for individuals who enjoy working independently in a variety of different environments and have a working knowledge of electric distribution systems. In this role, analysts will spend approximately 50% of their time traveling to regional client field locations to gather data and perform field surveys, with the remaining time spent in-office assisting the team with design and other tasks as required by the client. The right candidate will be a motivated self-starter who enjoys learning, collaborating with internal and external teams, is comfortable using technology, and can manage their time appropriately. REQUIREMENTS
    High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience is required; Experience with electric distribution grids preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word & Excel is required Proficient in engineering, computational, and modeling programs such AutoCAD, GIS, ikeGPS and Work management System
  • Ability to travel locally (50%) and work outdoors in various weather conditions is required
