The Senior IT Business Analyst works with solution architects, business stakeholders and senior engineering staff across the IT organization to design the best solutions to address the business objectives for product platform(s). The role requires a strong understanding of technology, software development, and application architecture as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Serve as the Business Analyst within Stride's IT organization. Responsibilities include working cooperatively with other business analysts embedded in the areas of Student Information Systems, Enterprise Service Bus, and integration with third party education systems;
  • Develop and champion multi-year business process management & optimization strategy and contribute to multi-year architecture roadmaps (Process, Capability, Technology, Business Change). Based on the roadmap, and situational awareness, recommend optimized investments in people, process, technology or information;
  • Serve as an expert to define and maintain the architectural frameworks/patterns, processes, standards and guidelines related to systems, business or data architecture. Align approach with broader architecture vision;
  • Conduct baseline mapping of Stride's core business processes in standard repository tools to level 4 details (APQC standards) or lower. Capture the relationships among roles, capabilities, processes and business units, the decomposition of those business units into subunits, and the internal or external management of those units, and expression of results in heat maps, organization impacts, etc.;
  • Capture the tactical and strategic enterprise goals that provide traceability through the organization and are mapped to metrics that provide ongoing governance for the achievement of the target architecture(s);
  • Partner with peers to help ensure that the target business architecture is realized. Promote and educate stakeholders on the use and value of optimized architecture(s);
  • Perform preliminary business analysis of emerging project requests/ideas to shape requirements and solution approach for alignment with broader roadmaps;
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the various technology teams including communicating decisions and best practices to other technical staff around the various development technologies and decisions;
  • Identify core common data shared across the enterprise and participate in enterprise-wide efforts to reach common understanding of those data;
  • Develop process guidelines, standards and hierarchies as well as maintain process repositories;
  • Actively participate with the Enterprise Architecture Team and act as the subject matter expert on the team for business architecture.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five (5) years of software engineering experience across multiple systems & environments OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates and Licenses: None required.

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 3 years of experience with development and solutioning on AWS
  • At least 3 years of experience with Java, Javascript, Angular, Spring, and SQL
  • At least 3 years of experience with an enterprise service bus like Tibco or MuleSoft
  • Must be adept at solving complicated technical problems
  • Deep analytical and critical thinking skills, including the ability to reason strategically about the future implications of current decisions and identify business risks
  • A keen interest in keeping up with current technologies and approaches in the industry with a particular focus on identifying ways to apply such new techniques to improve our performance
  • Ability to evaluate complex trade-offs between competing business & technical drivers to arrive at an optimal solution
  • Understanding of application design patterns and enterprise integration patterns
  • Experience with service-oriented-architecture and object-oriented design patterns
  • Excellent communication & collaboration skills with ability to document technical requirements and implementations.
  • Ability to work constructively and collaboratively with business users, technical staff, and management to reconcile differing points of view and build consensus
  • The ability to lead by influence rather than formal authority
  • Ability to clear required background check

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • Experience in developing Software as a Service (SaaS).
  • Familiar with emerging web technologies.
  • Familiar with open source technologies and frameworks.
  • Experience in cross browser support issues and solutions.
  • Experience with Stencil and UI components, accessibility best practices, and responsive design

Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person's education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position's work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee's salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position's level and expected contribution, and the employee's benefits elections.

  • We anticipate the salary range to be $113,566 to $192,197. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual's compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
