CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer - Power Substation to join our Transmission and Substation Team located in Reading, PA.

YOUR IMPACT

CHA's experts have decades of experience planning, designing, and permitting electrical power delivery infrastructure, including overhead and underground transmission lines and substations. We've designed hundreds of transmission, distribution, and customer-owned substations and switching stations (15kV up to 300 MVA transmission stations). We've also designed mobile transformers and substations up to 25 MVA and 161kV.

The Senior Structural Engineer plays a key role in the technical execution of numerous substation projects for our clients. This individual will collaborate with both junior staff members as well as the project management team to plan, schedule, and coordinate all phases of projects from start to finish. The Senior Structural Engineer will also provide technical and design support and will ensure that any issues or discrepancies that may arise are dealt with in a timely and professional manner. The ideal candidate for this position will be a strong communicator with extensive experience in substation and transformer structural design.

REQUIREMENTS
    Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering required
  • Professional Engineer License (PE) required
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience is required
  • Proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software including STAADPro, RISA, Enercalc, RAM, Revit, and AutoCAD, etc.
  • Active role in a professional engineering society/organization preferred
  • Occasional local and overnight travel may be required
