Material Handler/Warehouse

 Responsibilities:
  • Receives material from various modes of external transportation
  • Store material is designated warehouse locations
  • Loads and unloads bar stock, and machining parts sent out for additional treatment (i.e. black oxide, heat treat, chemical debur) onto or from trucks, pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand, with forklift, or other material handling device.
  • Moves materials from storage, receiving area, or work sites to designated area (ex. to proper stock location, to inspection area, to machine cell).
  • Return unused materials to stock and perform or initiate proper transactions
  • Moves and transacts material to work orders
  • Attaches identifying tags to materials.
  • Operates forklift, hand truck, and/or other material handling equipment to move material as required.
  • Follows all ISO procedures and safety rules, including wearing personal safety equipment.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of mechanical/machine malfunctions or any supplies/tools needed.
  • Matches packing list with delivered material and turns in to receiving office to be receipted into the manufacturing system
  • Participates in departmental projects, as needed (ex. restructuring the cell layout, continuous improvement).
  • Processes inventory transactions to maintain BOH accuracy
  • Utilize barcode scanner to process inventory transactions
  • Utilize barcode scanner to accomplish a cycle count
  • Maintains department in a clean and orderly manner. 
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1+ years of PIT (Power Industrial Truck) operator or material handling experience
  • Previous material handling, barcode and forklift experience preferred
  • Ability to write clearly and legibly.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, such as supervisory instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and work orders. 
  • Ability to effectively share information about job duties in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
  • Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using all units of measure.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. 
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.
