We will deliver on this mission through a combination of platform capabilities and fostering a vibrant, collaborative developer community.

We are looking for someone who enjoys connecting and collaborating with stakeholders, technical influencers, and developers in the businesses and functions across HP to build and innovate on platform services such as API management, developer portals, CI/CD build and deploy automation, and runtime environments.

The team is seeking an experienced Product Manager with a passion for understanding the customer (developers, data analysts, digital citizens) and delivering experiences that amaze!

Responsibilities:

  • Understand our developer community's problems and needs, and advocate for the needs of the community (your "market") within our organization and across HP

  • Develop and promote a strategy for creating and growing an API economy within HP to support business objectives

  • Create a product strategy, integrated with our organization's portfolio of products and shared platforms, to meet the needs of the developer community

  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps for HP's API Management Platform and our internal developer portal.

  • Research, identity, and define customer experiences and product features. Prioritize product backlog based on opportunity analysis, and work with development team(s) to refine plans based on your knowledge of the customer

  • Drive adoption of platform services and engagement of the community of software developers, data analysts, data scientists, business intelligence analysts, and other digital builders

  • Collaborate with internal partners and development organization to determine best solution, considering build vs. buy, HP and organizational goals and objectives and funding considerations

  • Keep up to date on emerging technology, trends in open-source, and vendor strategies applicable to the Developer Experience (DevEx)

  • Create proposals, including business justification, for significant new portfolio investments

  • Collaborate with Developer Engagement to plan and execute product launch, communication, and engagement activities

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management, Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent.

  • 7+ years experience in product management or marketing at a technology, IT services, software, software as a service (SaaS), or cloud company

  • Excellent written/oral communications and analytical skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to lead and influence virtual teams

  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and functional disciplines

  • History of building strong relationships with senior engineers, engineering leaders, business partners, and customers

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Team player and collaborator with strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to lead

  • Tenacious focus on customer experience and delivering value

  • Services or software product management experience

  • A strong communicator with the ability to synthesize and summarize information and tailor communication style and content for a variety of audiences

  • Skilled in building trusted relationships with team members and project stakeholders

  • Strong organizational skills and good judgment; must be a team player, positive, flexible, collaborative and creative

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment using a data-driven and analytical approach
