Job Description

Weekend | 12 Hour Shift (part time employment status)

Shift 4

Friday 11:00pm through Saturday 11:00am

Saturday 11:00pm through Sunday 11:00am

Responsible for setting up, adjusting, and maintaining PLC driven, automated production equipment, in a high-volume business. Loads raw materials onto machines as needed. Collaborates with management and team members to effectively and efficiently produce a high quality product.

  • Loads various raw materials (e.g., tin, cloth, etc.) onto production machines with a continuously running conveyor belt ensuring production schedules and operations are executed efficiently and effectively.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with others on the team in order to ensure equipment is operating continuously and in proper working order.
  • Performs periodic visual inspections/checks of equipment, identifies equipment defects, and solves routine problems ensuring machines are properly maintained, operate smoothly and at capacity, and continuously produce high quality products.
  • Assists in the set up and adjusting machine parameters, settings, and controls, to optimize performance.
  • Follows standardized work procedures and practices and maintains all applicable safety systems used on equipment and throughout the factory to ensure a safe and organized working environment.
  • Contributes to a continuous improvement environment by sharing concerns, ideas, recommendations, etc. with management.
  • Completes and maintains accurate production and maintenance paperwork and records as required and needed for effective operation between shifts.
  • Continuously communicates with team members on the line and with other support team members to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
  • Performs other duties as needed and assigned.

Education: High school education or the equivalent in education, training and experience. Technical School training or higher in electronics, and /or mechanical discipline, or the equivalent in years of work experience is preferred.

Related Experience: One (1) to two (2) years of work experience with PLC driven, high volume, automated production equipment is highly desired.

Special Competencies or Certifications:

  • Ability to visually inspect for and identify defects
  • Ability to keep pace on a continuously running conveyor belt and stand for up to 80% of the time
  • Flexible in changing to the various tasks listed throughout a shift
  • Strong attention to detail
