Job Description

Purpose

Blend all ink/adhesive and supply presses with the correct ink in an efficient and timely manner.

Duties

EHS

Follow all plant-wide, department-specific environmental, rules and procedures for the proper management of all Hazardous Waste. Support plant security procedures. Ensure Hazardous Waste containers are properly managed. Prepare Hazardous Waste containers for shipment. Complete manifests for all Hazardous Waste Shipments. Operate the equipment with consideration of the environment and the safety of everyone in mind. Assure that all environmental controls and safety devices are in place and functional, ensure all bonding and grounding is compliant. Report all incidents and/or unsafe conditions which may include: first aid, illness, spills, improper/incomplete procedures and property damage. Support EHS culture by active participation in workplace organization, operator preventative maintenance, and reducing workplace hazards. Understand all Do Not Touch Exceptions and how to perform tasks. Able to survey area for potential hazards and correct them. (i.e. blocked fire extinguisher, trip hazards, etc.)

Primary

Prioritize need for ink on all presses while on duty. Daily/Monthly Inventory of work off and virgin ink. Obtain updated schedule daily and prioritize order of jobs for making inks. Identify, report, and correct any problem formulas. Keep ink room/ dispense areas and dispensers clean and organized. Safely dispense fluids for the press in the most efficient manner possible. QC each ink and must have a 1.0 or better reading off the X-Rite. Ensure all appropriate paperwork is filled out accurately and completely. Use and add information into the color database for all appropriate standards. Place empty barrels and totes daily into the drum trailer. Coordinate the disposal of all fluid wastes. To facilitate and enforce all of the company policies and procedures as they are outlined and defined. Awareness of and adherence to all suitable and relevant health and safety policies. Safe movement, storage and use of articles and substances. Job to Job necessary fluids. All other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management.

Knowledge

Requirements

  • Computer skills and knowledge of X-Rite equipment, Novaflow and Color Theory
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Possess adequate math, measurement, and reading skills
  • Understand Novaflow for inventory movements

  • At least 1 year experience in a printing environment
