Job/Internship Description

Location: Hershey, PA

Duration: Summer 2020

Finance Undergrad Intern

The Hershey Company is seeking to fill multiple undergraduate-level summer intern positions across a variety of functions within our Finance organization.?

Summer intern positions require a full-time (40 hours / week) commitment for 12 weeks in Summer 2020, and performance will be calibrated at the end of the summer.??Successful interns may be considered for full time employment after completion of their college degree.

Potential areas / departments that will be hiring undergraduate-level intern candidates include:

Internal Audit

  • Participate in a combination of SOX control testing and internal audit assurance and/or advisory reviews under the supervision of experience senior level members of the Internal Audit department
  • Learn Hershey's business processes, interact with multiple levels of leaders across the organization and obtain a solider understanding of Internal Audit and SOX 404 methodologies
  • Experience obtained as an intern in Internal Audit also qualifies as "attest experience" for purposes of meeting CPA licensure requirements given the nature of work performed and CPA licensure of all personnel who will oversee the work performed

Tax

  • Assist in calculating Hershey's quarterly Federal and State estimated tax payments
  • Prepare various subsidiary Federal 1120 tax returns
  • Create state apportionment files to be used in state compliance process
  • Participate in special projects such as a cost segregation study for fixed assets related to Stuarts Draft Expansion and the Federal research and development tax credit
  • Participate in team activities surrounding Hershey's tax planning initiatives, a response to tax reform

Supply Chain Finance

  • Lead in the continued evolution of supply chain finance analytics, working to unlock analyses and standardize them in a way that can be easily repeated
  • Improving analytic capabilities to drive better decision making, increased forecast accuracy and efficiency, and potential identification of continuous improvement projects
  • Responsible for PMO activities related to one of more Gross Margin Improvement work streams - reducing complexity, improving mix, driving continuous improvement and improving commercial planning and forecasting
  • Data analysis, meeting facilitation, interaction with multiple commercial and finance functions to drive actions to completion

Finance/Accounting Area TBD

  • Seeking highly versatile candidate that can be utilized in a flex Finance role TBD; high analytical acumen and problem-solving skills

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program, entering your Junior or Senior year as of Summer 2020; majors in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration and Economics are highly preferred
  • Preference will be given to students with a GPA of 3.2 or higher

Additional Requirements:

  • Reliable transportation to and from work, and willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA for the duration of the internship
