Position Summary: 
The Senior Systems Engineer is a cross-discipline technical leadership role.  The senior systems engineer will be responsible for work in all Systems Engineering phases to include Concepts of Operation (CONOPs) development and maintenance, requirements definition, allocation/derivation, maintenance, and verification/validation. In addition, the Senior Systems Engineer will support and/or lead major program reviews including Systems Requirement Review (SRR),  Preliminary/Critical Design Review (PDR/CDR), and Production Readiness Reviews (PRR).  The Senior Systems Engineer will guide Specification and Interface Control Document development. The Senior Systems Engineer will also coordinate and/or perform various subsystem analyses.  


Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead architectural development efforts including trade studies, system-to-subsystem functional and logical allocation and decomposition, and definition of system capabilities, functions, features, and services necessary to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Develop systems engineering work-products such as Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) and Department of Defense Architectural Framework (DoDAF) Views.
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer/product requirements into total system solutions that acknowledge technical, time, cost, availability, risk and other constraints.
  • Define technical performance measures (TPMs), key performance parameters (KPPs), key performance areas (KPAs), measures of effectiveness (MOEs), etc. and ensures that the required and expected product technical approaches and configurations are achievable given the constraints.
  • Use metrics to improve product and execution quality, performance and effectiveness.

Essential Skills and Experience:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering program from an accredited college/university with at least 10 years of experience.  Master’s degree with at least 8 years of experience.
  • Proven leadership skills related to planning, estimating, organizing and managing technical teams and activities across multiple engineering disciplines and communities.
  • Systems engineering process experience including experience in several of the following
    1. Requirements identification, decomposition, and allocation.
    2. DoDAF, MODAF, UAF modelling.
    3. Interface control documentation and specification development and management.
    4. Requirements implementation and verification assessment.
    5. System-level compatibility assessments and integration analysis.
    6. CONOP development and maintenance.
  • Customer interface experience.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Eligible to obtain a government security clearance.
