DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Nurse Aide at South Mountain Restoration Center, you will provide basic care to residents by meeting their personal hygiene, physical, and emotional needs to maintain a healthy, clean, and safe environment while meeting basic licensing requirements. In this role, you will make decisions regarding resident care based on training and in consultation with Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses, Registered Nurse Supervisors, Nurse Managers, and the Director of Nursing.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment (40-hour work week)
  • Work hours are 1st shift (6:45 AM to 3:15 PM, with 30 minute lunch), 2nd shift (2:45 PM to 11:15 PM, with 30-minute lunch), or 3rd shift (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with no lunch). Work schedule consists of rotating on and off duty days, including weekends and holidays. Rotation includes every 3rd weekend off. May change based on operational needs.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
  • Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents. 

Special Requirement:
  • This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.

  • A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. 
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
