Required Skills: Bachelor in Business, Marketing or Finance - Advanced degree beneficial. 8+ years experience in a lender/relationship manager role, with a keen understanding of real estate lending, including construction financing, project management with strong credit skills. Ideal candidate possesses the ability to coach and develop others and expand their commercial real estate lending skill sets. Must be a team player, lead by example and actively participate with RM’s on business development calls on an as needed basis. Candidate must also be comfortable speaking in front of large groups for training and promotional events. Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills with an attention to detail are required. The candidate must have the ability to lead by example and work with RM’s on identifying specific customer needs and cross-sell opportunities. Candidate must demonstrate leadership skills for project management and have the ability to interact with senior management on projects, strategic plans and sharing customer feedback on products/services. Job Description:
Reporting up through the Commercial Bank, the Real Estate Business Advisor works on behalf of Corporate Banking (including the Commercial Segment), Business Banking and Wealth Management and is responsible for the investment real estate portfolio originated and/or held within each of these lines of business. The candidate will work hand in hand with the market senior management teams to ensure success. This includes coaching and developing the RM’s around real estate lending; pipeline and portfolio management; profitability; acquisition and cross-sell of new relationships; augmentation of existing relationships (assisting the sales force in cross-sells of high quality and profitable commercial real estate loans, capital markets, treasury management, wealth management, etc); managing performance standards through the credit approval process.
Specific portfolio management responsibilities include monitoring and direct supervision of the real estate loans in an assigned portfolio and utilizing the Channel (1 and 2) support functions for assessing credit quality; facilitating periodic reviews; considering renewals or modifications within the portfolio. Ensure coding integrity on all real estate transactions.
Liaison between Business Banking and Real Estate Finance when necessary to ensure the best borrowing experience is provided for significant developers and/or complex transactions
Liaison for training needs of the sales team. Facilitating training sessions as needed as well as participating in sales calls with less experienced RM’s.
Assist market relationship managers in assessing customer strategic fit and structuring transactions to PNC policy and return objectives.
Ensure consistent execution around PNC’s credit policies and procedures. Working with the RM’s to understand the risks associated with specific requests and developing ways to mitigate such risks. Addressing exceptions to credit policy and mitigating such exceptions. Assisting the RM’s with the prescreen process. All investment real estate transactions whether they be modifications to existing loans or new money requests, must come through the Real Estate Business Advisor in accordance with the policies and procedures outlined.
Lead the market toward risk-adjusted pricing consistent with PNC’s expectations and risk-return parameters.
Responsible for wholesaling internally and externally by coordinating targeted marketing campaigns, seminars with centers of influence and public speaking engagements in an effort to drive more business to PNC.
Responsible for internal market communications to provide reward, recognition, success stories, industry news as deemed appropriate by the market senior management teams
