RVP, Network Contracting--Northeast Region-327424
Description


  • Responsible for providing regional network management in the Northeast regional of OptumHealth's Clinical Network Services.
  • Leader partners closely with the Affordability and Network Strategy and Innovation teams.
  • Responsible for the region's Network management and relations.
  • Accountable for unit cost management;trend management for their region.
  • Develops the provider network (clinicians, hospitals, and programs) yielding a geographically competitive, broad access, stable network that achieves objectives for unit cost performance and trend management, and produces an affordable and predictable product for customers and business partners.
  • Executes on company wide strategic initiatives related to provider and facility partners, engagement, reimbursement strategy, and incentive programs.
  • Evaluates and negotiates contracts in compliance with company contract templates, reimbursement structure standards, and other key process controls.
  • Establishes and maintains strong business relationships with clinicians, hospitals, and programs.
  • Ensures the network composition includes an appropriate distribution of provider specialties.
  • Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirements.
  • Collaborates with VP affordability on large hospital system contracts.
  • Provides leadership to and is accountable for the performance and results through multiple layers of management and senior level professional staff.
  • Impact of work is most often at the regional (e.g. multi-state) level, or is responsible for a major portion of a business segment, functional area or line of business.
  • Develops, translates and executes strategies or functional/operation objectives for a region, line of business, or major portion of a business segment functional area.
  • Directs others to resolve highly complex or unusual disciplines.
  • Drives programs that impact markets of customers and consumers.
  • Responsible for performance management of teams including development, coaching, and recognition programs.

Qualifications
  • Preferred MA/MS degree in business, healthcare administration or equivalent experience.
  • Strong strategic and business acumen.
  • Exceptional quantitative skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with creating, deploying and managing complex applications.
  • 15 years of relevant workplace experience (Minimum 5 years clinical behavioral health experience and minimum 5 years Managed Care experience).
  • Willingness to engage in business travel.
  • Demonstrates capability to get results in a complex, sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Capable of managing a variety of complex issues while driving momentum of key projects.
  • Ability to build strong relationships within and outside of OHBS.
  • Demonstrates expert negotiation skills.
  • Excellent problem solving & analytic skills.
