Responsibilities

 

  • Inspect and validate critical processes to ensure alignment with established ISO policies and procedures
    • Define and execute specific customer and agency quality requirements as they pertain to the products being developed and manufactured
    • Develop, validate, maintain and implement inspection plans for new product launches
    • Assist in the identification of critical steps in processes to aid in the training of associates
    • Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of process controls and reaction plans
    • Investigate and define corrective and preventative actions pertaining to defective components, materials and products
    • Participate in supplier development and selection audits, including both domestic and possibly foreign suppliers
    • Manage Customer Quality Notification (CQN) reports and Internal Quality Notification (IQN) reports and any other corrective action requests
    • Participate as a member of the internal ISO audit team as needed
    • Assist with implementing and maintaining 6S initiatives as they apply to this functional area
    • Partner with the incoming inspection department to create quality plans for purchased material

Qualifications

 

Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Experience in an ISO 9001: 2015 manufacturing environment
• Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate in a positive and proactive way
• Proven ability to effectively lead projects, manage multiple tasks, solve technical problems, work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Excellent computer skills with experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project
• Experience in the Six Sigma DMAIC process
• Ability to perform in a team oriented environment.
• Demonstrated success in driving execution - act independently, take initiative, and follow assignment through to completion

 

Education and experience required:

 

 • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electrochemical  or related Engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited institution, or in the Natural Sciences or related technical discipline.


• This position is available at three different career levels depending on experience, education, etc.:


o Level 3 (Senior Staff): 5 years relevant Quality Engineering and/or related Engineering experience

 

o Level 2 (Staff Engineer III): 3 years relevant Quality Engineering or related Engineering Experience

 

o  Level 1 (Staff Engineer II): 2 years relevant Quality Engineering or related Engineering Experience

  
• MS degree may be substituted for up to 2 years of relevant experience. PhD may be substituted for up to 4 years of equivalent experience.

 

 

 

Preferred 

  • Understanding of gas detection systems and or instrumentation
  • Experience in manufacturing of electronics and electronic devices
  • Experience in SAP
  • Experience with agency controlled devices
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience with Minitab/Statistical Analysis
  • Green Belt/Black Belt Certification/Six Sigma Applications
  • Advanced Degree and or PE
